Bucheon residents and all music lovers!
The new year of 2009 has come.
I would like to begin by thanking all of you again for supporting the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra on the 20th anniversary of our foundation last year. On this anniversary, we realized that what has made the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra into a great orchestra under such tough conditions has been your interest and love.
To repay your constant words of encouragement, we have gathered our hearts to prepare a substantial program for 2009.
Firstly, our performance series of the entire symphonic works of Anton Bruckner, which began in 2007, is coming to an end. Our special programs to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Haydn’s death and the 200th anniversary of Mendelssohn’s birth, along with ‘the 21st Century Music Series’ and ‘Chamber Music Concerts’, which are becoming more popular each year, will surely give you the time of your lives.
Furthermore, as part of our efforts to work closer with the Bucheon community, we promise to fill 2009 with a multicolored array of performances, including the Morning Concert, which are planned annually with fresh repertoire, Concert at Your House, Choir Festival, Family Concert, and Youth Concert.
As senior conductor, my ties with the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, which were formed in 1989, have reached their 20th year. It has not always been easy, but working alongside the members of the orchestra while we walk down the road of music, I am proud to step forth into the world, as a representative of the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra.
With my heart thanking you for silently cheering for me for so many years, I pledge that I will continue to make the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra the best orchestra it can be.
